NPT (National Pipe Taper) Threads
Meaning: U.S. standard tapered pipe thread with a taper (1:16), thread diameter decreases from inlet to end, sealing is achieved through thread deformation.
Characteristics:
The angle of the thread is 60°, and both the external and internal threads are tapered.
The sealing depends on the extruded deformation of the threads when they are seated, usually with a sealant (e.g., raw tape, thread adhesive).
Conforms to ASME B1.20.1.
